Petanque, Cambodia’s Potential Sport

PHNOM PENH: Petanque is considered a high potential sport in Cambodia, underlined H.E. Sar Sokha, President of the Federation of Boules and Petanque of Cambodia (FBPC) in the closing ceremony of the federation's annually meeting here in Phnom Penh recently.

All gold, silver and bronze medals for Petanque obtained from the international events are priceless achievements, continued H.E. Sar Sokha, also Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Cambodia is working hard to push the sport to a new level, especially for the SEA Games 2023 hosted by Cambodia, he added.

According to H.E. Sar Sokha, Cambodia has by far earned in total 370 medals for Petanque including 108 golds, 131 silvers, and 131 bronzes.

Besides, 11 gold medals were obtained from the SEA Games through the sport.

You can see new clubs forming all over Cambodia. It seems to be taking Cambodia to higher levels. It’s a sport that anyone can play.
